MARGE
The Manitoba Association of Retired Government Employees (MARGE) Inc. , or MARGE , was originally established in 1972 as an association of retired Manitoba provincial civil servants , called the Manitoba Government Retired Employees' Association . In 2015 the association was incorporated under its current name and expanded its membership eligibility to include a broader range of retired public servants. MARGE is a volunteer run , not-for-profit whose main objective is to sponsor group insurance plans which are only available to its members.
Today MARGE has over 3,000 members representing a wide range of public sector retirees , including those from the civil service, municipalities , and the healthcare field. See Eligibility, under About MARGE above, for details on who is eligible to join MARGE.
Membership Dues
Memberships are issued on a calendar year basis and expire on December 31. There are no membership dues payable for the remainder of the calendar year in which you first join MARGE. Thereafter , membership dues are $15.00 per calendar year .
Office Hours
The MARGE office is only open on most Tuesday mornings from 9:00am to Noon. However, during this summer the office is only open every second Tuesday , as follows:

July 7 and July 21 , and
August 4 and August 18 .

MARGE is a volunteer run Association. We are always looking for members to volunteer to be an Executive Officer, a member of one of the Association's Standing Committees or to perform clerical functions..
